Writeout ("Writeout", "we", "us", or "our") is a service operated by Kriyaetive Verse Private Limited (CIN: U72900TN2019PTC131581), a company incorporated in India, with its registered office at No. 297/11, Sottapanikkantherivilai, Samithoppu (PO), Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu 629701, India. We are the controller responsible for your personal data processed through the Writeout service at writeout.app (the "Service").

Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you request), legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service), consent (for non-essential cookies and certain communications, where required), and legal obligation (to comply with applicable law). You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.
To generate deliverables, transcripts, summaries, and answers, your sources and related content are processed by automated systems and trusted third-party AI providers acting on our behalf. We instruct these providers to process your content only to provide the Service to you. We do not use the private content of your sources to train our own general-purpose models.

We may process and store information in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms recognised under applicable law.
We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage) to operate the Service, keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand usage. The categories we use are:

If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and correct, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights; we do not sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 16 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
The Service may link to third-party websites and process content from third-party sources you provide. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties; their own policies govern your use of them.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. If the changes are material, we will provide a more prominent notice, such as by email or an in-product notice, before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
