Quick start
This walkthrough takes you from a single link to a finished deliverable. It should take about five minutes.
1. Add a source
From your dashboard, paste a link — a YouTube video, a podcast episode, a PDF, or an article. Writeout pulls in the transcript or text and analyses it. A source is the atomic unit of work in Writeout: everything else builds on it.
2. Pick what you want out of it
Tell Writeout what you are after — a summary, key takeaways, a structured brief, or answers to specific questions. Writeout drafts the deliverable from the source content.
3. Review with citations
Every claim in the output links back to the exact moment in the source — to the second for audio and video. Click any citation to jump straight to where it came from, so you can trust what you are reading.
4. (Optional) Group sources into a goal
Working toward something bigger? Create a goal and add several sources to it. Writeout draws across all of them to produce one combined deliverable. See Core concepts for how sources and goals relate.
That is the whole loop: add a source → choose an output → review the cited result. Everything else in this help center goes deeper on each step.
